Please join us in welcoming Prof. Maike Sonnelwald to GGAM!

Professor Maike Sonnewald is a new Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department and a CAMPOS scholar. In 2016 Prof. Sonnewald received her PhD in Complex Systems Simulation through the National Oceanography Center at the University of Southampton, UK. Her doctoral work was followed by a postdoctoral position at the Department of Earth, Atmosphere and Planetary Sciences in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During her postdoctoral time, she held visiting positions at various institutions in the US and Europe. She then joined Princeton University as an Associate Research Scholar.

Her work uses dynamical systems and machine learning to study the ocean and climate. Her work has been key for the implementation of national and international policy. Please find more information about Prof. Sonnewald here: www.compClimate.com
