Join us in welcoming Professor Dogyoon Song to GGAM!
Dogyoon Song is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics. He received a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2021, working primarily on optimization and low-rank models. Prior to joining UC Davis, he was a postdoc at the University of Michigan.
His research interests lie at the interface of optimization, statistics, and machine learning, with a focus on developing theories and efficient algorithms for data-assisted decision making. Specifically, his current work focuses on three main lines: (1) understanding the geometry of low-complexity statistical/ML models (either inherent or emergent), (2) decision making with high-dimensional data with provable non-asymptotic guarantees, and (3) machine learning and deep learning theory.
We are thrilled to be adding another brilliant mind to GGAM!
