The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) has just announced the 2017 Class of SIAM Fellows. These distinguished members were nominated for their exemplary research as well as outstanding service to the community. Through their contributions, SIAM Fellows help to advance the fields of applied mathematics and computational science. Among the 2017 Fellows is GGAM member Prof. Zhaojun Bai, Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics, who is recognized for significant contributions to numerical linear algebra, eigenvalue computation in particular, and its application to computational science and engineering.
